Rhetoric vs Results

It’s a shame there are so many stupid people in this country. What’s scary is that these people have the same number of votes as you and me. One. (Well, one legal vote any way.)

Watching the political conventions these last two weeks, we’ve seen just how stupid these idiots are. While many political protesters were content to demonstrate their displeasure with America in an orderly fashion, still more of those in the hate-America crowd felt the need to go above and beyond the scope of simple political protest, escalating their actions to criminal acts against people and property.

Granted, these idiots are still a minority of the population, but they are a very vocal minority. They insist on making sure we all know just how stupid they are, chanting their mindless chants, unable to explain just what it is they’re so angry about.

When Fox News reporters dared to ask these anarchists what they were protesting, to give the protesters a chance to exercise their freedom of speech to a national audience, the reporters were met with shouts of “F*** Fox News!” Now there’s real insight.

Such brilliant rhetoric is illustrative of the mindset of these idiots. And it might help explain how Barack Obama has become the Democrat nominee for President of the United States.

Barack Obama is a terrific orator, a master of rhetoric. Listening to his grandiose speeches you’d almost think you were hearing a sermon from on high. Barack Obama almost makes you believe he could solve all the world’s problems with his words alone. Which makes him a perfect Democrat candidate.

On the other hand, Republicans believe actions speak louder than words.

First volunteering on her local PTA, then as mayor of her small town, and eventually as Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin sough office in order to fix problems she saw, not to advance her own career as a professional politician. Once elected, she wasted no time and got right to work, enacting legislation and reforming Alaskan politics to root out waste and corruption.

By contrast, Barack Obama is a product of the Chicago political machine, an organization not exactly known for it’s ethics or honesty.

The Democrat political hacks immediately saw Sarah Palin as a threat, and set out to dig up as much dirt on her as they could. So what did they find?

Twenty-two years ago, before they were even married, Sarah Palin’s husband (that is the husband of the Republican Vice-Presidential candidate) was cited for drunk driving.

This was about the same time Barack Obama (the Democrat’s Presidential candidate) admits he was using cocaine.

Sarah Palin sought to have an Alaskan police officer fired. This officer was the man Palin’s sister was divorcing. What was not widely reported was that this police officer was being investigated for using a taser on his 10-year-old stepson, and for making death threats against Palin’s father.

They also set out to dismiss Sarah Palin for her lack of experience. This from a party that chose Barack Obama as their presidential candidate, a man whose claim to fame was that he was once a “community organizer,” a state senator, and a U.S. Senator. Only problem is that his community organizing activities didn’t alleviate the crime and poverty he was supposedly trying to solve. The community housing projects he helped create were condemned and are uninhabitable.

As Sarah Palin said, her experience as a small town mayor was sort of like Barack Obama’s experience as a community organizer, except as a mayor, Sarah Palin had actual responsibilities.

And in all his time in elected office, Barack Obama cannot point to a single piece of legislation that he wrote and championed into law.

But he can sure give an eloquent sermon

As Senator Joe Lieberman observed in his remarks before the Republican convention on September 2, “Eloquence is no substitute for a record.”

Almost lost in all the fury over the announcement of Sarah Palin as the Republican nominee for Vice-President is the fact that it is John McCain who is the Republican nominee for President.

John McCain is a man of deeds that back his words. Unlike his Democrat rival, John McCain has a long and distinguished record of service to his country. And as the Chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission Michael Williams put it. “John McCain will not apologize for America’s strength; he will assert it.”

Barack Obama has tried to make “change” the theme of his campaign. First it was just change. Then it was change you can believe in. Then the signs became “New Energy For America.” Seems like Barack Obama’s message of “change” keeps changing.

Rudy Giulani pointed out that “Change is not a destination; hope is not a strategy.”

Amidst all the political hoopla during these conventions is the fact that we still live in a world governed by the aggressive use of force. Despite the utopian wishes of many in this country, it takes a strong military and the willingness to use it to ensure peace.

Barack Obama keeps talking about how he’ll “bring the troops home.” He never says anything about winning a war, just ending it. We saw how effective that political strategy was in ending the Vietnam War. Yes, it ended – and the people of South Vietnam paid the price.

From the ongoing battles in Georgia to the tensions on the Korean peninsula to the many fronts in the war on terror, we must remember there are forces in the world that have sworn an unholy oath kill Americans. That’s you and me. And they don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican, liberal or conservative. You’re an American. That makes you an infidel, and you must die.

We’re facing a global war in which Muslin extremists have vowed to destroy America. We know where John McCain stands.

In his book Audacity of Hope Barack Obama, who calls himself a citizen of the world, wrote 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

Now you know where Barack Obama stands.
